″ My ancestors delivered me a gaida which plays dorian, Phrygian and lydian scales. But now through my special needs i want a chanter which plays all the scales and a drone who changes tonality(not only one note).
Of course i should not lose the previous sound colors.

” A very very sungificant part of the gaida is the goatskin. You can see it also as artificial lungs or temparary airbag.
For a good goatskin we need at first a naughty male or female goat but also we need a decent and skilled player.

The smell’s will go to God(s), the meat to the people and the skin to player who reincarnates in a way the goat in his hands.”

” The good player sees the instrument as someone and not like something that does his job to spit it out and then the game ends, so it takes care of the instrument properly with oil, cleaning and proper holding conditions, proper laying and this compensates for it when it vibrates in his hands. This explains why when someone plays you think that there are two players.”

” The blower is a little part of the bagpipe but if it is not ok all the previous quality work goes in trash. Through the passing of time the good blower goes on without losses. The keys for a heroic blower are: (1) right hole diameter (2) good shape for your lips (3) valve from material which does not allow the air to pass and rejects moisture.

” In addition to the right measures, the right wood, the right sockets, the right finger puddles (ergonomics), a decent kaval should also have the right polishing. It should also be already infused with the right oil, otherwise will crack in the first few plays. Proper oil ensures the desired resonance in the wood chains.”
