Ney

three duclars

In honor of the great Sufi Sheikh Bedreddin, who was murdered near to our laboratory, we created a new multidimensional ney, which is a combination of the Indian bansuri, the classic neyzen, and the barok flute.

It is made of bamboo for more sharp and clean sound, the measurements are a little bigger for more balanced dynamics in all range with 2.5 – 3 octaves, and depending on the baspare, can give flavors of the ancient japanese/chinese shakuhachi.

Note that it takes us ca. 1,5 months to create a ney. During this period you are in constant dialog with us so you can follow the production process as you wish!

A few words about Sheikh Bedreddin

Sheikh Bedreddin, who was born on the 3rd of December 1358 in Simavna (dust mountain) of Andrianoupolis, was the first religious leader to be a social reformer and for this, his name was buried but his soul did not die.

He studied in all the famous theosophical centers of the ottoman empire, and not only (Konya, Alexandria, Iran).

Fighting against the Ottoman Empire in harsh conditions, he started the revolution when the ottoman emperor took the land from the farmers.

With the help of two of his faithful students, Mustafa Bourklouge and Torlak Kemal, he gave a struggle for a better world, but it seemed that there was no space for changes.

Sheikh Bedreddin murdered in the downtown of Serres about 3 December 1420 near to our workshop, but his soul is still alive.
